Simpson Aeroelectrics was incorporated in 1984.
It was formed by the managing director, Mr. Robert Simpson, to fill a void in the aviation industry of high quality electrical system maintenance.
The company grew and in 1987, took over and incorporated another company on Moorabbin Airport which included the lease on a small hanger. This allowed the company to progress and plan for future expansion.

In 1991, in conjunction with Mark Howe of Blue Demon Aviation, a lease was entered into for the move to a larger facility on Moorabbin.
This again allowed for expansion of the core business, aircraft electrical maintenance, but also gave us future direction for expansion into all aspects of aircraft maintenance.

In late 2001, a tender was won for the purchase of our current location at 12 Northern Avenue Moorabbin Airport which included all tooling and equipment of an existing maintenance facility. The move to the new premises gave us the room to expand our operation and grow our core business.

In 2004, we were presented with an opportunity to purchase Moorabbin Avionics Centre, a long term well respected dedicated avionics service facility. This company was fully incorporated into Simpson Aeroelectrics including the rebuilding of workshop facilities to house the new equipment.
The company has continued to grow to meet the demands of the aviation community and with the rapidly changing world of aviation, will continue to do so.
